Since 2016, DRE has offered three types of teacher training programs, designed to meet the needs of teachers in kindergartens and primary schools.
Jian Xue Summer School:
Focused on systematically teaching Drama in Education(DiE) pedagogy, this program is devided into three levels: primary, secondary, and advanced. Each level involves 10 days of study. Participants gain a comprehensive understanding of DiE/TiE and develop strong facilitation skills through practical experience.
Trinity College Dublin Certified CPD Teacher Training (Pre-primary & Early Years / Primary School)
In collaboration with and certified by Trinity College Dublin, this programme is based on three books: Drama in Education: A Practice Guide and Teaching Plan I, II, III, written by Professor Carmel O’ Sullivans. The training consists of interactive 2-day workshops each stage, presenting the foundational theory of DiE and practical approaches for classroom application.
DR Creative Curriculum (Kindergarten / Primary School)
This curriculum enhances the overall quality of drama teaching in kindergartens and primary schools.
- Kindergarten Project (KLCC): Includes Picture Books, Student & Teacher Books, and Props, along with 4-day training for each project, supporting 24-36 session teaching plans.
- Primay Project (PLCC): Includes Teacher Books, a Parents’ Manual, and 4-day training for each project, supporting 24-36 session teaching plans.

Founded in 2009, Drama Rainbow Education is an integrated arts education and development Company. DRE constitutes seven Centres: Drama in Education (3-8 y.o.), Youth Theatre (8-16 y.o.), Theatre in Education, Teaching & Learning, Research, Community and Play. DRE creates a holistic and purposeful learning environment. Children and young people are the active agents in their own development and education using a uniquely Chinese model based upon the British drama and theatre in education methodology and a social constructivist approach to learning. Children and young people are at the centre of everying DRE does, the work we create with them through participatory drama and theatre, also forms the basis for community building with families designed to inform active parenting, address anxiety, communication and parent-child relationships. The DRE Centre nurtures a physical and psychological environment for families to connect, develop and grow together. Our journey is over past decades, has been constantly reflected and evaluated, which has been theorized and shared through our Teaching & Learning and Research Centres for relevant professionals.
