Among those, 81% indicated that their motivations included the desire to enhance learning, improve grades, and speed up task completion. Notably, over 50% of users cited saving time on assignments as a primary reason for their use of GenAI.
- Responsible Use: Dr. MacNutt noted that most students utilised AI tools to initiate papers or revise sections, rather than allowing the AI to complete entire assignments. Only 0.3% of submissions were primarily written by GenAI, reinforcing the idea that students are using these tools selectively and ethically.
